Stephen Goularte graduated from SBCC’s culinary arts program in 1993, and has been cooking professionally at local eateries like Downey’s and The Little Door, as well as a Private Chef ever since. In 2000 Stephen switched gears from the kitchen to the dining room when he became the General Manager of SB’s favorite martini bar Chad’s, then moved on to Rocks in 2003. To continue growing his professional beverage career, Stephen opened the infamous night club Couchez in 2005 as GM and a year later opened EOS as managing partner. As a part of the fine dining service teams at Downey’s, Tre Lune, and El Encanto among others, he was able to expand his wine palate and embarked on a new path in the world of wine. He is a Level 1 Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and is working diligently towards his Level 2. You can find him at Santa Barbara Public Market, pouring wine at Wine + Beer and sharing his knowledge of 25 years of local cuisine and wine with all.
